Route 1 Credit Union was originally chartered in 1957 as the U.O.Colson Credit Association for the employees of the Colson Company.
When The Colson Company closed in 1992, the credit union expanded it’s charter to include any industry or occupation within the city limits of Paris. With the charter expansion the credit union name changed to the Paris Industrial & Occupational Credit Union.
In 2003 the credit union name and charter were once again changed. The Paris Industrial & Occupational Credit Union became Route 1 Credit Union and the new Field of Membership was expanded to Clark and Edgar counties.
Membership is now available to any individual living or working in Clark and Edgar counties and members of their immediate families . Immediate family members are eligible for membership regardless of where they live or work. Immediate family includes spouse, children, step children, parents, step parents, sisters, step sisters, brothers, step brothers, and grandparents.
ROUTE 1 CREDIT UNION is a not for profit organization dedicated to serving their members. We still believe in and operate by the original credit union theme of “MEMBERS HELPING MEMBERS”.
